Risk of Using Non Genuine Parts

Non-genuine parts are designed using reverse engineering (copying an original component). Manufacturers of non-genuine parts do not have access to Perkins technical data and drawings so these parts are designed and manufactured in isolation from the rest of the engine.

In most cases the material specification is rationalised, so there is a real risk that these parts will not fit correctly. This can result in rapid wear, compromised performance, poor reliability, higher oil and fuel consumption and even component damage or engine failure.

Suppliers of non-genuine parts will only provide a small range of the high-volume part numbers. They will not support the complete Perkins engine range and will not be covered by the Powerpart warranty.

The product is installed by simply removing the original muffler and installing the catalytic muffler in its place, utilizing the same pipe connections, mounting points, brackets, straps, etc. The product looks exactly the same as the original muffler and provides the same sound attenuation.

DCL’s diesel particulate filters are used to meet MSHA standards for particulate matter in underground mines, EPA or CARB mandated standards for particulate emissions in diesel vehicle retrofits, or simply to improve the air quality in a work site containing diesel engines.

Description
The MINE-X®Flow-Through Diesel Particulate Filter is a revolutionary patent pending, flow-through particulate filter that provides effective removal of diesel particulate matter and lower backpressure than conventional wall-flow particulate filters. DCL flow-through, particulate filters are used to meet EPA or CARB standards for particulate reduction or simply to improve air quality around diesel engines. The MINE-X® Flow-Through Diesel Particulate Filterremoves up to 60% Diesel Particulate Matter (DPM) and requires diesel fuel with sulfur content less than 500 ppm and works best with sulfur content less than 15 ppm (ULSD).

Applications

The MINE-X® Flow-Through Diesel Particulate Filter can be used in aboveground diesel engine applications. It is ideal for retrofit on diesel engines where a wall-flow particulate filter is unsuitable, including light duty cycle, older and two-stroke engines.

Bi-Fuel System
The GTI Bi-Fuel System manufactured by Altronic offers an affordable and efficient means of operating industrial diesel engines utilizing both diesel and natural gas (or other available gas) as fuel sources. This innovative, patented system, which requires no modification to the internal components of the engine, allows for operation on natural gas up to a maximum of 70%* of the fuel required to maintain the desired speed and load. Reduced exhaust emissions and fuel costs are just a few of the benefits of Bi-Fuel operation.

The GTI Bi-Fuel System operates by blending both diesel fuel and natural gas in the combustion chamber. This is achieved using a fumigated gas-charge design, whereby natural gas is pre-mixed with engine intake-air and delivered to the combustion chamber via the air-intake valve. The air-gas mixture is ignited when the diesel injector sprays a reduced quantity of diesel fuel into the chamber.

This diesel “pilot” acts as the ignition source for the primary air-gas combustible mixture. Because the Bi-Fuel System utilizes the OEM air-intake and diesel injection systems, no internal engine modifications are required for installation.
